Atlantic Beach Golf Estate – Melkbos, Western Cape, South Africa

Developed as a joint venture, KV3’s flagship golf course project, Atlantic Beach, is located on the West Coast of South Africa, just outside Cape Town at Melkbos. The Atlantic Beach Golf Course is a links course in the tradition of such fabled golf courses as St Andrews and Pebble Beach. Winding its way through the undulating dunes, and peppered with indigenous vegetation, the challenging (yet fair) course has been designed to be as enjoyable for the professional as it is for the weekend golfer.

KV3 was responsible for all Civil (water, sewage, roads and stormwater) and Electrical Engineering aspects for the estate, as well as the earthworks relating to the 18-hole course and the construction supervision.

Specification/Design:

• International golf course architects, Golf Data, who are associated with Jack Nicklaus and his well-known 'signature' golf courses, was responsible for the layout design and construction and maintenance of the golf course.
• The Structural Design work of the US$2.4 million Clubhouse was also done by KV3.
