Southern Sudan

In late 2004, KV3 became part of a joint venture to serve the Government of Southern Sudan (GOSS). The KV3 engineering scope included preparing emergency works programmes to upgrade and restore accommodation facilities and services for various Government support institutions.

Other projects that KV3 has assisted in so far include temporary housing and infrastructure for 800 government employees, an integrated infrastructure development plan and master plan for the towns that have been identified as the new capitals for the ten states in South Sudan, and various other master plans and feasibility studies for primary road infrastructure and other services.

With a total expenditure of US$290.8 million, scheduled for completion in approximately 18 months, the following contracts have recently been or are about to be approved:

  • Refurbishment to the Juba Hospital
  • Reconstruction of 60km of urban roads to full asphalt surfacing
  • Rehabilitation of water treatment works
  • Installation of sewerage oxidation ponds
  • Provision of a new solid waste collection and disposal area plus a new slaughterhouse
